But when it comes to Dana Marie Fehrenbach, Jimmy Beans Wool is literally family. Dana happens to be Doug’s third cousin.
Laura, aka Jimmy, met with Dana over winter in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Dana’s LYS, D Marie Knit and Fiber, is a big part of the community in Wisconsin.
Dana does a lot of work with children, including a “night in the knit shop” sleepover where students from fifth grade to college are invited to spend the night and knit hats for the homeless. She also has a summer program for local students to learn how to knit or improve on their skills.
She also offers classes for all skill levels throughout the week at her shop and other locations around Prairie du Sac.
In 2019, DMarie proudly donated $4,090.00 to Badger Honor Flight. DMarie donated the yarn. They used Madelinetosh Merino Worsted along with the help of student and adult knitters who put in hundreds of hours of knitting to knit up 100 Brynfinities.
We fell in love with her spirit and designs, and so did you!
In fact, Dana worked with us and Madelinetosh on a squirrel shawl pattern using Tosh’s “Sporks Out” collection along with Grasshopper in Farm Twist.
Her pattern on Ravelry had over 2,000 downloads!! Also take a peek at the beautiful, vibrant Sporks Out collection in Tosh’s Squirrel Series. We might be a bit partial, but we love the crimson and chartreuse vibes.
Her shop describes itself as “an experience to feed your soul” and we can’t help but agree. If you’re ever in the land of lactose, go check her store out!
